Sky Broadband customers in the Isle of Wight experienced a loss of service over the weekend.

The outage began on Saturday 16th December and was attributed to a break in a fibre cable.

As a result, customers could not access the internet or make or receive calls.

A second fibre cable break was later identified, which led to customers experiencing a second day of disruption.

However, engineers were able to restore services before the end of the day.

"We're very sorry for the inconvenience caused," Sky commented on its Twitter page.
