BT TV app customers can now download and access content while they are on the move.
After purchasing programmes directly through BT Player or their set-top box, customers can then access all their BT TV purchases, rentals and subscriptions via the app.
Content can be downloaded and played on any device through the BT TV app, both at home and while a person is out and about.
BT has also unveiled BT TV App Extra, which it says will take people's viewing experiences "to the next level" across big screens, mobiles and tablets.
This enhanced version of the app enables users to play content on up to four registered devices in the home through Apple TV, Google Chromecast and Samsung Smart TVs, with Amazon Fire TV coming soon.
As well as being able to access purchased and rented content, customers can also download and play subscription, on-demand and catch-up content such as entertainment and sport, regardless of their location.
Customers who already have the BT TV app will be given the option of updating it on their device, while BT TV App Extra is available for an additional £5 on a monthly rolling contract.
Pete Oliver, Managing Director of BT Marketing and Sales, commented: "We’re giving customers unrivalled choice and flexibility in how they experience and watch their favourite content.
"Our new TV app brings BT’s fantastic entertainment and sport to multiple screens enabling customers to watch in more places than ever before”.
