Vodafone has confirmed the pricing and launch details for the rollout of its Gigafast broadband offerings in Milton Keynes, with installations set to begin in October.
The offering follows a successful pilot programme in the city and will initially be available to more than 3,700 homes, before being rolled out to almost every address in Milton Keynes by 2020.
Four Vodafone Gigafast Broadband packages will be on offer, with the cheapest of these, the Gigafast 100, providing consumers with speeds of 100Mbps. This deal will cost £28 a month.
Meanwhile, the Gigafast 200 option, with double the speed of the Gigafast 100 offering, will cost £33 a month, while the Gigafast 500, with average speeds of 500Mbps, will cost £38 per month. Finally, the high-end Gigafast 900 package will provide average speeds of 900Mbps and will cost £48 per month.
However, customers who already have an existing Vodafone mobile phone contract can also enjoy a £5 per month discount on any of the above packages.
The Gigafast 900 deal offers speeds of around 150 times faster than the typical UK broadband connection. This will allow users to download a 50GB PS4 or Xbox One game in just eight minutes, compared with two hours and 40 minutes for an average connection.
What's more, it also offers identical speeds for uploading as well as downloading, which means consumers can upload 32GB of photos and video to the cloud in just five minutes, instead of 12 hours and 40 minutes.
All the packages come with an 18-month contract and a free Vodafone Broadband Router and also include free installation, unlimited broadband, phone line, no line rental, free Vodafone content controls and six months' free F-Secure SAFE anti-virus.
Vodafone UK Chief Executive Nick Jeffery said: "We are helping people break free from the shackles of their old, copper-based broadband. With Gigafast Broadband, Vodafone is investing in best-in-class infrastructure for the UK, equipping the nation for the future."
Eligible customers will be able to pre-order any of the Gigafast packages from 14th September.
Milton Keynes is just the start of Vodafone's plans to roll out Gigafast offerings. Aberdeen and Peterborough will also gain access later this year, with Coventry, Edinburgh, Huddersfield and Stirling coming online in early 2019.
