New customers signing up for BT broadband and TV services will be able to claim a free Amazon Echo home assistant for a limited time, as well as free prepaid Mastercard debit cards to spend wherever they choose.

The Amazon Echo usually retails for £89.99 and comes with a powerful home speaker and Amazon's Alexa voice-activated virtual assistant, which can let consumers control their home's lighting, play music and answer their search queries, simply by asking it.

The offer is available on a range of the firm's fibre deals, with the value of the debit card depending on the package users choose. For instance, BT's Superfast Fibre Essential deal comes with a £70 reward card, and also offers unlimited downloads at average speeds of 36Mbps, free UK weekend calls, BT Virus Protect on two devices and 30GB of cloud storage.

This will cost £28.99 a month for an 18-month contract, after which the price will increase to £44.49.

Meanwhile, the firm's Superfast Fibre deal boosts the expected download speeds to 50Mbps and comes with a £100 gift card in addition to the free Amazon Echo. This will cost £29.99 a month for the first 18 months, thereafter rising to £52.49.

Finally, the Superfast Fibre 2 package offers a further speed increase to 67Mbps and comes with a £130 reward card. This is priced at £39.99 a month for 18 months, before rising to £58.99. This deal also boosts the free cloud storage to 1,000GB and lets users add BT Virus Protect to as many as 15 devices.

Consumers can also choose to add BT TV services to any of its broadband deals. The Starter pack will cost £6 a month, plus a £50 activation fee, while the Entertainment pack costs £15 a month plus £10 activation, and the Max 4K deal adds £24 a month to the bill, but comes with free activation.

All of these deals also include BT Sport as standard, which lets users watch events such as Premier League and Champions League football, Premiership rugby and UFC.

These offers are only available until midnight on December 6th, so if you want to pick up your free Amazon Echo, you'll have to act quickly.
