Royal Bank of Scotland
Royal Bank of Scotland is one of the main members
of the RBS Group of financial institutions.
The basic Royal Bank of Scotland current account is a ‘no frills’ current
account that is designed to let customers make cash withdrawals via a visa
debit card and access bill payment facilities. The account is fairly limited in
that customers can only use certain cash machines in the Royal Bank of Scotland network,
specifically those belonging to Royal Bank of Scotland, Ulster Bank and NatWest. There is also no
cheque book and overdraft facility offered with a basic Royal Bank of Scotland current account.
The next tier of Royal Bank of Scotland current account offers a number of
extra benefits. These include an overdraft facility, cheque book, the ability
to set up standing orders and direct debits, and access to an emergency cash
fund in the event a debit card is lost or stolen.
Young people aged between 11 and 18 years can earn interest
on their money with an Royal Bank of Scotland young person’s current account. They can also
personalise the design of their debit card.
Students can enjoy free overdraft facilities with a student Royal Bank of Scotland current account and graduates receive extra rewards when they sign up for a
graduate current account with RBS.
For access to extra benefits, customers can opt for a
premium current account with Royal Bank of Scotland. Premium accounts are subject to a monthly fee
and require a minimum amount of income to be paid into the account every month,
but in return they are eligible for a range of extras. These include travel
insurance, mobile phone insurance, access to a ticket booking service for a
wide range of entertainment options (with cashback available on every
purchase), and breakdown cover.
Private banking is another option offered by Royal Bank of Scotland.
