Proud to speak Plain English

I’m very happy (and more than a little proud) to say that uSwitch.com has been awarded the Internet Crystal Mark by the Plain English Campaign.

We’re one of only a few websites (and the only price comparison site) to have this approval from Plain English, so I think it’s a real achievement.

The Plain English Campaign has waged war on unnecessary jargon and gobbledygook for over 30 years.  Plain English award the Internet Crystal Mark to websites that use simple language and are easy to understand. The mark is a standard for websites to aim for in terms of clear language, accessibility and ease of use.

Before this starts sounding too self-congratulatory, I think it’s important to say that this isn’t just an award – it is also a commitment to our customers.

Plain English is a standard we’ll always be working towards – we’re not perfect and there are things we could do better.

Plain English will regularly come and check on us to see if we’re still up to scratch, but I’d also love it if our customers did the same.

If you read something on the uSwitch website that you think could be improved or that needs clarification, please let us know. Feel free to drop me an email with any suggestions at editor@uswitch.com.
