iD Mobile’s new all–in–one plan: five things you need to know

id mobile

iD Mobile already has some of the best offers going for mobile users, whether they want to keep unused data, cap their usage to prevent bill shock or use their phone abroad without having to pay colossal roaming fees.

And now it’s putting all of its offerings into one simple 4G plan, which will surely prove enticing to new customers looking to escape the strictures of the bigger networks.

Here's five things you need to know about iD’s new offer...

1 Data rollover for all

Data rollover hero image people using phones

All new pay monthly customers, whether they’re buying a new handset or SIM only package, will benefit from iD’s mobile’s data rollover.

This means that any data not used can be rolled over into the following month’s billing period, giving you extra to play around with.

The upshot? More streaming, social media browsing and searching the web without having to pay extra.

2 Bill capping as standard

Paying your mobile phone bill

iD’s existing ‘Shockproof’ tariffs allow users to cap their bills to prevent the pain of bill shock and a drain on their bank balance.

Now this feature will come as standard alongside data rollover, meaning users can set their own spending limits and adjust that cap, as well as track and manage their usage, via iD’s dedicated app.

3 Roam Like at Home

International roaming hero

Although roaming charges have now been abolished across the EU, paying extra when you go away is still a huge concern when travelling outside of the union.

iD’s Roam Like at Home forms a core part of iD’s simplified 4G plan, letting you use your calls, texts and data at no extra cost in 50 destinations.

These are: Austria, Azerbaijan, Azores, Belarus, Belgium, Bulgaria, Canary Islands, Croatia, Cyprus, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, French Guiana, Germany, Gibraltar, Greece, Guadeloupe, Guernsey, Hungary, Iceland, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Jersey, Kazakhstan, Latvia, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Luxembourg, Macedonia, Madeira, Malta, Martinique, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Réunion, Romania, Saint-Barthélemy, Saint-Martin, San Marino, Slovakia, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Vatican City.

4 Existing customers included

iD’s new 4G plan may look enticing, but what if you’re already signed up to one of its older packages? Well, as of 15 June, there are extras for everyone, applied automatically.

GoTo customers now get bill capping and roaming included on top of their existing data rollover service; Shockproof customers will see roaming added to their contract; and TakeAway users will see bill capping become an additional feature.

Data Only users now get bill capping and roaming as well.

5 And a returns policy boost

As well simplifying its plans, iD is also making changes to its returns policy.

Anyone unhappy with their new deal now has 30 days to change their mind, rather than the industry standard 14.

That’s a huge move and one which will likely entice many more to make the switch.
