With a score of 89, the Pixel’s camera is the highest rated camera by independent camera ratings agency DxOMark.
The 12-megapixel rear camera’s key features include phase detection & laser autofocus, dual-LED (dual tone) flash, touch focus and face detection. It’s also got optical image stabilisation for shooting video in 4K and intelligently selects the best photo when you’ve taken a lot of similar photos in burst mode.
Around the front, there’s a secondary eight-megapixel camera for selfies and video calling.

The Pixel is powered by a large 2,770 mAh battery. A fast charge mode enables provides up to seven hours of use from 15 minutes of charging.

Unlimited storage for photos and videos
All Google Pixel phones come with unlimited cloud storage for photos and videos, to free up more space on your phone for apps and games.
The voice activated digital personal assistant Google Assistant is built into the phone and enables you to conduct searches, manage your day-to-day tasks with reminders, translate words into 100 languages, find photos and stay in the loop with travel updates.
Large Quad HD screen
The Pixel is equipped with a Quad HD AMOLED 5-inch screen capable of showing up to 16.77 million colours. The display is made of robust Corning Gorilla Glass.
As with HTC’s premium phones, the Pixel features a weighty aluminium construction.
At the rear of the phone you’ll find a Pixel Imprint finger sensor that means the phone can only be unlocked with your fingerprint.
Google Duo app built-in
Compatible with iPhones and Android phones, the Google Duo app is activated with one tap and allows you to make video calls irrespective of the type of handset you’re calling.
Android Nougat and quad-core processor
The Pixel comes with Android Nougat software, which features improved system for notifications, a split-screen mode for when you’re using multiple apps simultaneously, a Night Mode that limits exposure to bright light that can keep you awake at bedtime and a low-power Doze mode.
To keep the phone ticking over when you’re multi-tasking, Google has fitted it with a quad-core Qualcomm processor.
