How to transfer your number from iD Mobile to FreedomPop?

  1. 1) Check you’re eligible to switch from iD Mobile

    If you’re out of contract with iD Mobile, you’re free to switch network whenever you like and it won’t cost you anything.

    In the event that you’re not sure of your contract status, customer support a call on 7777 from your iD Mobile phone. Or you can ring 0333 003 7777 from a landline or any other mobile phone (charges may vary).

    Opening hours are 8am-8pm every day of the week.

    Don’t want to speak to anyone? You can also find out your contract end date by logging into to your iD Mobile account. Or you can open up the iD Mobile app on your phone and find it there.

  2. 2) Contact iD Mobile to cancel and get your PAC Code

    Next up, you need to get in touch with iD Mobile and tell them you’re leaving. You can do this by getting in touch on the numbers listed in step 1.

    While you’re on the phone to their team, you’ll also need to ask for a PAC Code. This is a short sequence of numbers and letters that's vital for you to transfer your existing phone number to the network you’re joining.

    It’s a legal requirement that networks provide you with a PAC Code within two hours of your request.

    The important thing to note, though, is that your PAC Code will expire if it’s not used within 30 days.

    If, for whatever reason, you don’t get around to using it in that timeframe you’ll need to ring iD Mobile to ask for a new one.

  3. 3) Find and buy a SIM from FreedomPop

    Checked you’re out of contract and ready to switch? Your next job is to select and sign up for a FreedomPop SIM-only deal through uSwitch.

    FreedomPop will carry out credit checks. After which point, you’ll receive your SIM in the post.

  4. 4) Contact FreedomPop to give them your PAC Code

    The next item on the agenda is to get in touch with FreedomPop and give them your PAC Code to start the process of transferring your number.

    Get in touch with FreedomPop’s customer support team on 0113 887 0823. Opening hours are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. The call centre is closed at weekends.

  5. 5) Insert the FreedomPop SIM in your phone

    Open up your phone’s SIM tray using a pin-key. Then insert your FreedomPop SIM.

    As you might expect, your number won’t have been transferred straightaway. But while you’re waiting for the transfer to be completed, you’ll be given a temporary number to use.

    So you’ll still be able to use your phone.

  6. 6) Wait for your number to be transferred to FreedomPop

    In general, number transfers are done and dusted the next working day. However, this varies from network to network and it could take a bit longer if a weekend gets in the way.
