How to transfer your number from EE to Lebara Mobile?

  1. 1) Check you're eligible to switch from EE

    If you're out of contract with EE, you can switch for no charge whenever you like.

    Not sure if you're out of contract? To find out, you can call 150 from your EE phone to speak to customer support. Or on 07953 966 250 from any other phone (standard network charges apply).

    Opening hours are 8am-8pm Monday-Friday. 8am-6pm at weekends.

    Don't fancy phoning? Log in to your EE account online instead.

    Keeping your old phone and signing up for a new SIM-only deal with a new network? Okay, that means there’s a chance you may need to get your phone unlocked.

    The good news is that this is very simple. Just head to EE’s site where you’ll find a form to fill in to unlock your smartphone.

    Once that’s done, they’ll provide you with a personal unlocking key (PUK) that you can use to unlock your handset.

  2. 2) Contact EE to cancel your contract and get your PAC code

    Once you’ve found a new deal and signed up, your next task is to ring EE and tell them you want to leave. They’ll give you a contract end date that you should make a note of.

    While you’re on the phone to them, you also need to ask for a PAC Code. It’s this short alphanumeric code that will enable you to transfer your existing phone number to the network you want to join. EE is bound by law to provide a PAC Code within two hours of you asking for it.

  3. 3) Find and buy a SIM from Lebara Mobile

    Confirmed you’re out of contract? Okay, that’s all to the good. Now your job is to pick a SIM only deal from Lebara Mobile and sign up for it through uSwitch.

    Once you’ve done that, Lebara will carry out some credit checks. After which point, you’ll be sent your SIM card in the post.

  4. 4) Contact Lebara Mobile to give them your PAC Code

    The next item on your to-do list is to ring Lebara Mobile to give them your PAC Code.

  5. 5) Insert the Lebara Mobile SIM in your phone

    Next up, unlock the SIM tray on your phone with a pin-key and insert your Lebara Mobile SIM card.

    Your number won’t be transferred straightaway. But you’ll be given a temporary number while the transfer is underway, so you’ll still be able to use your phone.

  6. 6) Wait for your number to be transferred to Lebara Mobile

    Typically, number transfers are complete the next working day. But this may vary from network to network.

    It’s also worth noting that if a weekend gets in the way, it could take a little longer.
