How to transfer your number from Talkmobile to O2?

Read more about O2
  1. 1) Check you’re eligible to switch from talkmobile

If you’re out of contract with Talkmobile, you’re free to switch whenever you like and it won’t cost you anything.

To check your contract status or find out your contract end date, get in touch with talkmobile’s customer support team on 5888 from your talkmobile phone. Or 0333 304 8064 from any other phone (standard network charges apply).

Opening hours are 8am-7pm Monday-Friday. 9am-6pm on Saturday. 10am-5pm on Sunday.

If you’d prefer not to call, you can also get your contract end date by logging into your Talkmobile account. Or by opening up the talkmobile app on your phone.

  2. 2) Contact talkmobile to cancel and get your PAC Code

Next on the to-do list is to contact Talkmobile and tell them you’d like to leave. You can get in touch with them on the contact numbers listed in step 1.

While you’re talking to the customer support team, you’ll also need to ask for a PAC Code.

What’s a PAC Code, you say? It’s a short sequence of numbers and letters that you’ll need to give to the network you’re planning to join, so that they can transfer your existing telephone number.

PAC Codes expire after 30 days, which means you’ll need to use yours within this timeframe. If for any reason you’re not able to, you’ll have to contact talkmobile again to request a new one.

  3. 3) Find and buy a new deal from O2

Your next task is to choose and sign up for a new deal contract from O2. Once you’ve passed O2's credit checks, you’ll receive your phone or SIM card in the post.

  4. 4) Contact O2 to give them your PAC code

Now you’ll just to ring O2 to give them your PAC. You can get in touch with O2's customer support team on 034 4809 0202 from a landline (standard network rates apply).

  5. 5) Insert your new SIM card from O2

If you got a new phone, use your pin-key to unlock the handset's SIM tray. Then insert your O2 SIM.

If you went for a SIM-only deal, you can just put the O2 SIM in your existing phone.

While your number is being transferred, you'll be supplied with a temporary number to use. So you can still make and take calls and do whatever you'd normally do on your phone.

  6. 6) Wait for your number to be transferred from O2

The transfer should be complete the next working day. But this varies depending on the network you're joining.

The transfer could also take a little bit longer if a weekend or Bank Holiday gets in the way.
