Read more about Plusnet
  1. 1) Check you’re eligible to switch from FreedomPop

If you’re out of contract with FreedomPop, you’re free to switch at any time and it won’t cost you anything.

To check your contract status or find out your contract end date, you can contact FreedomPop’s customer support team on 0113 887 0823 from your FreedomPop handset or any other phone (standard network charges apply).

Opening hours are 9am-5pm Monday to Friday. The call centre is not open on weekends.

If you prefer not to pick up the phone, you can also check your contract end date by logging into your FreedomPop account. Or within the FreedomPop app on your phone.

  2. 2) Contact FreedomPop to cancel and get your PAC Code

Ready to say your goodbyes? Good. Okay, now you’ll need to get in touch with FreedomPop to tell them you’d like to leave. You can contact them on the numbers listed in step 1.

The crucial thing is to remember is to ask for a PAC Code. This is a short sequence of numbers and letters that will enable you to transfer your current phone number to the network you’re planning to join.

Networks are legally obliged to supply your PAC Code within two hours of your request.

When you’ve got your PAC Code, you’ve got 30 days to use it. If you don’t use it within this timeframe, you’ll need to contact FreedomPop again to request a new one.

  3. 3) Find and buy a SIM-only deal from Plusnet Mobile

Free as a bird? Or got an impending date when you’ll be ready to leave? Great. Now you need to select a SIM only deal from Plusnet Mobile and sign up through uSwitch.

Once you’ve passed Plusnet Mobile’s credit checks, you’ll receive your SIM in the post.

  4. 4) Contact Plusnet Mobile to give them your PAC Code

Your only real job now is to get in touch with Plusnet Mobile and give them your PAC code.

You can get in touch on 0800 079 1133 (standard network charges apply).

  5. 5) Unbox and insert your Plusnet Mobile SIM

Got your phone to hand? Okay, open up the SIM tray using a pin and insert your Plusnet Mobile SIM card.

Your number won’t be transferred straightaway. But you’ll be given a temporary number to use while the number transfer is taking place. So you can still use your phone.

  6. 6) Wait for your number to be transferred to Plusnet Mobile

Plusnet aims to complete number transfers the next working day. However, that may depend on the time of day you make your transfer request.

The earlier you make your request, the more likely it is to happen the next day.
