How to transfer your number from TalkMobile to Plusnet?

Read more about Plusnet
  1. 1) Check you’re eligible to switch from talkmobile

If you’re out of contract with talkmobile, you’re free to switch whenever you like and it won’t cost you anything.

To check your contract status or find out your contract end date, get in touch with talkmobile’s customer support team on 5888 from your talkmobile phone. Or 0333 304 8064 from any other phone (standard network charges apply).

Opening hours are 8am-7pm Monday-Friday. 9am-6pm on Saturday. 10am-5pm on Sunday.

If you’d prefer not to call, you can also get your contract end date by logging into your talkmobile account. Or by opening up the talkmobile app on your phone.

  2. 2) Contact talkmobile to cancel and get your PAC Code

Next on the to-do list is to contact talkmobile and tell them you’d like to leave. You can get in touch with them on the contact numbers listed in step 1.

While you’re talking to the customer support team, you’ll also need to ask for a PAC Code.

What’s a PAC Code, you say? It’s a short sequence of numbers and letters that you’ll need to give to the network you’re planning to join, so that they can transfer your existing telephone number.

PAC Codes expire after 30 days, which means you’ll need to use yours within this timeframe. If for any reason you’re not able to, you’ll have to contact talkmobile again to request a new one.

  3. 3) Find and buy a SIM-only deal from Plusnet Mobile

Free as a bird? Or got an impending date when you’ll be ready to leave? Great. Now you need to select a SIM only deal from Plusnet Mobile and sign up through Uswitch.

Once you’ve passed Plusnet Mobile’s credit checks, you’ll receive your SIM in the post.

  4. 4) Contact Plusnet Mobile to give them your PAC Code

Your only real job now is to get in touch with Plusnet Mobile and give them your PAC code.

You can get in touch on 0800 079 1133 (standard network charges apply).

  5. 5) Unbox and insert your Plusnet Mobile SIM

Got your phone to hand? Okay, open up the SIM tray using a pin and insert your Plusnet Mobile SIM card.

Your number won’t be transferred straightaway. But you’ll be given a temporary number to use while the number transfer is taking place. So you can still use your phone.

  6. 6) Wait for your number to be transferred to Plusnet Mobile

Plusnet aims to complete number transfers the next working day. However, that may depend on the time of day you make your transfer request.

The earlier you make your request, the more likely it is to happen the next day.
