Virgin Mobile has added a new handset to its burgeoning Lobster range in the form of Lobster 621.
The candybar handset is a collaboration with Alcatel and teams a stylish chrome exterior with a music player, 1.3 megapixel camera, webcam and microSD slot.
At just 69g, the Lobster 621 is also as light as some of the sleekest handsets currently available.
John Crompton, purchasing manager at Virgin Mobile, commented: “We asked Alcatel if they could manufacture a handset under our Lobster Brand, allowing us to offer Virgin Mobile customers a choice of stylish, but affordable handsets and they have done just that with the Lobster 621.”
News of the launch comes as parent company Virgin Media recently confirmed that is cutting 2,200 jobs in the UK over the next four years.
The move is aimed at cutting operating expenditure and restructuring the company.
The bulk of the job cuts are expected to be enacted over the next 12 months.
