Vodafone could be poised to be the exclusive carrier of the Palm Pre handset, it has been speculated.
Technology blogs are today awash with reports that Vodafone will win the battle to be the mobile network with exclusive rights to offer the much-touted mobile phone.
MobileTopSoft cited unnamed sources at Vodafone to support its assertion and said there had been “various leaks” of information which led the site to its conclusion.
For their part Vodafone has moved to quash the rumours, with the network telling IT Pro that is has “no plans” for such deal. Meanwhile, Palm has issued a terse no comment.
The Palm Pre was unveiled by its manufacturers at the CES show earlier this month.
Specifications of the phone include 8GB of internal storage, a multi-touch colour screen, GPS, Wi-Fi and a slide-out full Qwerty keyboard. Users also benefit from a changeable battery.
