Sony Ericsson’s Idou phone is just the first of a range of high-end, multi-media handsets it is planning this year, it has been revealed.
The Idou phone stole headlines last week at the Mobile World Congress (MWC) in Barcelona for its high-end 12 megapixel camera, touchscreen and compatibility with sophisticated Symbian games.
However, Todd Culos, global product manager for the new handset at Sony Ericsson, has now revealed that the Idou is the initial release in what is planned to be a new range of phones that will be released under the banner of Entertainment Unlimited.
He told Pocketlint.co.uk: "Under Entertainment Unlimited we will have another product announcement around gaming, with the full proposition with a little twist around gaming.
"[There] maybe another one around music or messaging. It will be the full proposition with a little twist around music or messaging.”
Sony Ericsson’s other key release at the MWC was the W595 that teams an eight megapixel camera, shake control, album art and TrackID from the Walkman range with features such as image stabilisation and face detection that were included on Cybershot handsets.
