The brand new Samsung Marcel slider handset has hit stores today, offering a fun camera, music player and FM radio.
Regarded as the successor of the Samsung J700, the phone is similar in look and feel to the more costly Samsung Soul.
Features of the phone include a brushed metal casing, closing slide action and an impressively large 2.2 inch full colour display.
Housed within its robust frame is a two megapixel camera, a microSD card slot to allow owners to expand the handset’s storage capacity and a radio with RDS.
The Samsung Marcel is available on all leading UK mobile phone networks on both contract and pay as you go deals.
News of Samsung’s latest mid-range mobile phone launch comes as the mobile communications giant recently announced it is planning a host of budget-priced phones this year as it looks to grow its business in developing markets.
In particular, Samsung is targeting the huge Indian market and is focussing especially on consumers in rural areas.
To this effect, Samsung has been developing mobile phones with features designed to appeal specifically to Indian buyers, such as a local calendar, torch and regular updates of commodity prices in Hindi.
