Sony Ericsson has unveiled its new T707 handset with a promotional campaign spearheaded by tennis star Maria Sharapova.
The clamshell mobile phone stands out for its retro styling and light settings, which can be customised by the user to indicate who is calling.
Also installed is a fun function whereby calls can be silenced or ended by waving a hand over the mobile phone. This applies to alarms as well.
Underneath the shell of the T707, meanwhile, there is a 3.2 megapixel camera with 3.2X digital zoom, an FM radio, 3-D motion-sensitive games and a voice recorder.
The phone is 3G and stereo Bluetooth-compatible and is quad band, meaning that it can be used with mobile phone networks all over the globe.
Price points and carriers which will be offering the T707 have yet to be confirmed by Sony Ericsson, but it has been announced that it will be available in Mysterious Black, Spring Rose and Lucid Blue from the second quarter of this year.
Brand ambassdor Ms Sharapova said: "The T707 is my ultimate new accessory. I’m always on the go and I need a phone that is easy to use, and of course chic as well."
