The LG GD900 transparent smartphone is set for release on pay-as-you-go and contract deals in June, it has been announced.
Carphone Warehouse has secured exclusive rights to sell the LG GD900 and is to offer the phone for free on contract deals, according to reports.
LG’s new handset stands out for its completely see-through tempered glass keypad which can be transformed into a laptop-style mouse to make web navigation easier.
Other features of the mid-range mobile phone include an eight megapixel camera, Wi-Fi and GPRS support, a 2.6 inch touchscreen display and handwriting recognition.
LG is planning a range of new handset launches this year, including three GM music-focussed mobile phones.
Also due is the much-touted successor to the LG Viewty KU990, the LG Viewty Smart, which teams an eight megapixel camera with a Schneider-Kreuznach lens and a high-quality video recorder that offers “DVD-quality” footage with DivX and XviD playback.
