Sony Ericsson has unveiled a brand new entry-level Walkman mobile phone, aimed at the youth market and cash-strapped older consumers.
The W205 is a slider handset which comes equipped with a media player, 1.3 megapixel camera and multiple phone books.
Also onboard is an FM radio, which is equipped with the Track ID function that lets users record a segment of unfamiliar songs and find out their name and title via an SMS message.
Sony Ericsson’s marketing business manager, Timo Maassmann said: “The W205 is perfect for those who love portable music but have never had the Walkman phone experience.”
The launch of the W202 follows the announcement of the similarly keenly priced W302 Snapshot phone.
Unveiled this week, the W302 features a two megapixel camera with 2.5x digital zoom, a picture blogging application and illuminated camera shortcuts.
Price points and UK network carriers have yet to be confirmed for either handset.
