T-Mobile has announced a new credit crunch-beating deal offering customers a BlackBerry Pearl 8110 and unlimited e-mail and internet for a one-off payment of £179.99.
The so-called Pay Once offer is aimed at business users and consumers who are looking to cut costs and will be available from T-Mobile as of May 1st.
Under the terms of the deal, buyers get one year of unlimited e-mail and internet usage with the phone, but must purchase pay-as-you-go top-ups to make calls and send texts and MMS messages.
A statement from BlackBerry manufacturer Research in Motion (RIM) and T-Mobile read: “The ‘Pay Once’ concept is a market first, giving people the chance to experience the hugely popular BlackBerry e-mail service and access to internet sites and social networks on the move for a year – all for just a single payment of £179.99.”
The BlackBerry Pearl 8110 has been one of RIM’s most successful mobile phones and teams push e-mail with a SureType QWERTY keyboard, a two megapixel camera and built-in GPS.
Owners of the touchscreen smartphone also benefit from fast access to social networking sites through pre-loaded quick links.
