CNET doyenne Ima Fried today tells of how she dropped her prized BlackBerry into a toilet bowl. Against the odds, said phone is alive to tell the tale. Now, rather helpfully, she’s shared with us some advice detailing exactly what you should do if your phone has an unscheduled swim.
Top tips include: using silica gel packs to aid the drying out process (you’ll typically find them in shoe or handbag boxes). Alternatively, just as good she reckons, is a bag of uncooked rice, which will also draw out the moisture quick-smart. Most important, though, is to just let nature take its course and leave the handset well alone for a few days.
If you’ve got any other advice for dealing with drenched mobile phones we’d love to hear them. Please let us know below.
