The LG KP500 Cookie mobile phone has bucked the downturn in demand for new mobile phones.
Carphone Warehouse has recorded 350,000 unit sales of LG’s KP500 Cookie smartphone since the start of the year, it has been revealed.
Sustained demand for the handset meant that the LG KP500 Cookie is now the retail chain’s second best-selling handset ever, behind the Motorola V3 Razr.
Graham Stapleton, chief commercial officer at Carphone, told Mobile Today: “By developing a close partnership with LG we identified the Cookie in June last year and it has been a tremendous success.”
News of developments comes after LG recently confirmed that the KU 990 Viewty had sold seven million units since it was launched in November 2007.
A follow-up to the Viewty, dubbed the LG GC900 Viewty Smart, will arrive later this year and is to be equipped with an eight megapixel camera, innovative 3-D touchscreen interface and Dolby sound enhancement technology.
