Consumers will soon be able to buy a Nokia 5800 XpressMusic
bundled with access to Nokia’s Comes With Music (CWM) service on Orange.
The 5800 XpressMusic phone was launched last year in a blaze of publicity but has yet to be available in the UK with the all-you-can-eat music download service.
From May 29th, Orange is offering the high-end smartphone on a range of two-year contract mobile phone deals, ranging in price from £24.77 and £44.04 per month.
The CWM service allows subscribers to download as many songs as they like and are able to keep the music on their phone or on their PC once their contract term has expired.
However, earlier this year, Music Ally, a music industry consultancy, speculated that CWM had attracted just 23,000 users since launch.
It is thought that take-up for the service would have been significantly greater if the music on offer was not DRM-protected.
