Samsung has sold 20 million touchscreen phones worldwide, just two years after it began manufacturing handsets with touch-operated user interfaces.
The Korean company’s strong performance has been driven by sustained demand for its Samsung F480 Tocco and i900 Omnia phones, which team high-functions with quality materials.
Sales of touchscreen Samsung mobile phones are expected to be similarly impressive this year, which will bring the launch of several new handsets.
These include the Samsung i7500, which will be powered by Google’s Android operating system and will house an impressively powerful 528 MHz processor and a comprehensive range of e-mail functions.
The Samsung Omnia HD is also due for imminent release and stands out for its advanced video playback capabilities and the facility for recording film in high definition.
Meanwhile, this month will see the unveiling in the UK of the Lite edition of the hugely popular Samsung S8300 Tocco Ultra phone.
