INQ has added two more new handsets to its release schedule for this year, along with the firm’s already confirmed Twitterphone
Earlier this month, the subsidiary of technology giant Hutchison Whampoa announced it is to follow-up its hugely popular Facebook phone, the INQ1, with a phone that embraces the Twitter microblogging phenomenon
Now in an interview with Mobile Today, chief executive Frank Meehan has confirmed that it is also planning to launch a further two new mobile phones before the end of 2009.
Both of these will boast social networking features, with one also set to feature Skype support for free mobile calls.
INQ’s previous Facebook-enabled handset was notable hit for the company and reportedly sold some 700,000 units.
The success of the INQ 1 was capped when it scooped the award for best handset of 2008 at the Mobile World Congress in February.
In so doing, the INQ 1 saw off stiff challenges from the BlackBerry 9500 Storm, Nokia E71, the Android-powered T-Mobile G1 and the LG KS360.
