HTC’s latest Android mobile phone, the HTC Hero, now looks set for an August release date.
According to a report from PocketLint, the new mobile phone is displayed on online retailer Amazon with a street date of August 15th.
It had previously been reported that the handset would go on sale on Orange this month.
Meanwhile, T-Mobile which is to rebrand the Hero as the T-Mobile G2 Touch, has yet to issue a date for launch.
The HTC Hero is set to be the third mobile phone to employ Google’s Android operating system to go on sale in the UK, following the HTC Magic and the one million-selling T-Mobile G1.
It is expected to be followed by a raft of Android mobile phones over the next few months, including the Samsung Galaxy i7500.
The i7500 Galaxy, which boasts a five megapixel camera and 8GB of memory, is set to go on sale on O2 next month.
