Palm’s latest update for the Palm Pre mobile phone has restored the option to sync the handsets with iTunes
Last week, Apple’s latest 8.2.1 version of its iTunes software blocked the synching option for Palm Pre phones.
However, the new update of Palm’s webOS platform has brought back compatibility.
Since launching in the US in June, the Palm Pre has proved a huge success for the PDA manufacturer despite going head to head with the new iPhone 3G S. Opening weekend sales alone hit over 50,000.
O2, which is the exclusive UK carrier of the Pre, has yet to confirm a UK launch date for the phone but it is widely expected to go on sale at some stage during the third quarter of the year.
Features of the phone include a large touchscreen, a full slide-out Qwerty keyboard, 8GB of internal memory, GPS, Wi-Fi and a changeable battery to make usage more flexible.
