The application, which is available to download now for free and is compatible with the iPhone 3G S as well as older models, uses GPS to allow owners of iPhones to pinpoint their exact location. They are then sent details of all properties available to buy and let in the surrounding area.
According to Miles Shipside, commercial director at Rightmove, the app “will add a new dimension to the way people can search for property and means users can now have instant, location-targeted access to the UK’s number one property website”.
It’s a neat idea, that’s for sure. Now if they could just invent an app to breathe life back into a housing market crippled by the gridlock in the money markets and atrophying consumer demand, we’d really be talking.
