Nokia mobile phones are to feature Microsoft Office software in future, it has been confirmed.
The announcement will see all key Microsoft Office packages, including Word, Excel and Powerpoint, on Nokia mobiles from 2010 and follows an agreement between the handset manufacturer and the computing giant.
This will also see the firms working together to develop a host of new services which will appear initially on Nokia’s range of business-focused mobiles in the Eseries.
It is hoped that the venture will enable Nokia to compete more effectively with BlackBerry mobiles in the lucrative market for business handsets.
Nokia's executive vice-president for devices, Kai Öistämö, said: "This is about creating a formidable challenge for RIM, rather than anybody else."
Mobile phones in the Eseries include the hugely popular Nokia E71, which is available on a range of contract mobile phone deals from Top 10 Mobile Phones.
