Pictures of the HTC Mega have leaked online, indicating the Taiwanese company’s ongoing support for the Windows Mobile platform despite its recent success with Android mobile phones.
Photos of the new mobile phone show that the Mega will dispense with a slide-out QWERTY keyboard in favour of a full touchscreen text inputting system.
The handset is the first HTC mobile phone for some time to use the Windows Mobile operating system and will be running the latest version of the OS Windows 6.5.
Other features of the mobile phone, which is expected to be pitched at the mid-range market, include a 3.2 megapixel camera, WiFi, GPS and HSDPA support for a fast mobile internet experience.
This year has seen HTC mobile phones go from a largely cult concern which were bought principally to technology fans to products with mass market appeal , with the enormous success of the Android-powered HTC Magic and T-Mobile G1.
