The Sony Ericsson Xperia 2 is due to be officially unveiled next week, it has been claimed, some two months after the new mobile phone was expected to be shown to the public.
The Xperia 2 was originally expected to be showcased at a mobile industry expo in Singapore in June.
However, in the interim no news has been heard about the phone until this week when Boy Genius reported that speculation is mounting that the handset is due for launch at “a yet-to-be announced Sony Ericsson press event" next week.
Features of the Sony Ericsson Xperia 2 include a slide-out QWERTY keyboard, an 8.1 megapixel camera with auto-focus and GPS.
The touchscreen mobile phone will also be home to a 3.5-inch WVGA OLED display, 3.5mm headphone jack and an accelerometer.
It is also predicted that the mobile will allow Playstation 3 owners to interact with their consoles wherever they are.
