The Windows Mobile powered Acer smartphone the F1 is due for a UK release in a matter of weeks, it has been announced.
According to a report from Register Hardware, the PC giants have confirmed that the phone will be available to buy before the impending launch of the latest 6.5 edition of Windows Mobile on October 6th.
However, there remains a degree of confusion over price points, with Tech Radar claiming that it has been told that the F1 will cost in the region of £450.
Meanwhile, online retailer Clove, which is to be one of the official carriers of the handset, is claiming that the price will be no more than £295 + VAT.
Features of the F1 include a super fast Qualcomm 1GHz processor, to allow lag-free simultaneous use of its functions, and a five megapixel camera with LED flash.
The new phone is one of nine Windows Mobile powered mobiles planned for release by Acer this year. An Acer Android mobile phone is also scheduled to launch before the end of 2009.
