Samsung has unveiled a brand new 12 megapixel camera phone with a 3X optical zoom, which promises to bring new levels of imaging capabilities of mobile phones.
The new mobile phone, known as the Samsung SCH-W880 in Europe and as the Samsung Anycall AMOLED 12M in South Korea, dedicated camera buttons, a dial mode and a Xenon flash.
As well as delivering higher quality photos, the handset is capable of video recording at 30 fps in HD and a 3.3-inch AMOLED screen.
Other features include a touchscreen and Samsung’s widget-based TouchWiz user interface to allow users to customise the look and feel of the phone.
At present Samsung has no plans to release the handset outside its domestic South Korean market.
The SCH-W880 is the second Samsung phone to sport a 12 megapixel following the release earlier this year of the Samsung Pixon 12 M8910, which is available from Top 10 Mobile Phones on contract deals from T-Mobile and Orange.
