Vodafone will offer the BlackBerry Storm 2 for free from £35 per month over a two year contract, it has been reported.
Earlier this week reports surfaced that the handset will go on sale with a price point of £30 per month. These were based largely on promotional material seen in a Walton on Thames branch of Carphone Warehouse.
However, unnamed sources at Vodafone cited by TechRadar have indicated that this is incorrect and that buyers will pay out an extra £5 per month to get the handset for free.
The site also claims that the phone will boast a number of improvements over the earlier edition of the Storm, including a “more accurate text input and improved SurePress screen”.
Other key features of the touchscreen-operated Storm 2 include a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus and image stabilization technology as well as HSDPA support for fast downloads.
The new mobile phone, which is expected to be launched later this month, will also offer users 256MB of flash memory and assisted GPS.
