Images of a new media-optimised Sony Ericsson cameraphone have leaked online.
Apparently dubbed the Kurara, the handset reportedly packs an 8.1 megapixel camera with autofocus and flash and will run on Symbian S60.
It is not yet clear whether it the camera will support HD video recording. The first set of photographs to appear, which were unearthed by phonesdb, showed an HD logo at the rear of the handset. However, this is missing from images that have since surfaced.
Other features of the entertainment-focused mobile include a large 3.5-inch AMOLED touchscreen display and a high-end media player.
The Kurara is expected to land on contract deals in the UK early next year following an official unveiling at the Mobile World Congress trade expo.
Sony Ericsson’s current flagship camera phone is the heavily promoted 12.1 megapixel Satio, which also boasts GPS support and a 3.5-inch display capable of displaying 16 million colours.
