Sony Ericsson Aino buyers are reporting glitches with the handset, making the phone the second in a week from the company to be at the focus of customer complaints.
On Tuesday, Carphone Warehouse and Phones4U withdrew the high-end Sony Ericsson Satio cameraphone from sale after buyers experienced a software problem.
A similar fault now appears to be affecting the Aino’s touchscreen user interface. However, the issue is apparently only evident in a small number of cases and has not yet resulted in the handset being pulled from shelves.
A spokesperson from Sony Ericsson told the Reuters news agency: “The Aino has sold in limited numbers in the UK, so this issue affects only a very small number of customers. Obviously we are working as quickly as possible to solve it.”
Both handsets were a key part of Sony Ericsson’s Christmas handset line-up, as the joint venture looks to recover market share lost in recent months to the likes of HTC and LG.
The company is continuing to advertise the Satio heavily despite the problems reported by buyers.
