A mobile application which keeps a record as to how much you are drinking, called the 'alcohol tracker', has been made available by the Department of Health.
Increases in alcoholic consumption over the festive period can lead to various health problems and the tracker will allow you to input information about your own habits in order to assess how much damage you could be doing to your system.
Users will need to tell the tracker how many alcoholic beverages they are imbibing each day and the app will create a graph to indicate the amount by which the user needs to cut down in order to comply with NHS guidelines on drinking.
If you do not have a compatible mobile phone you can also text 64746 with any queries if you want to learn more about healthy limits for drinking.
The alcohol tracker app is free for users with Windows Mobile-based phones and will also be made available on the App Store for iPhone owners.
