When Barcelona plays host to the Mobile World Congress in February 2010, it will occur in tandem with an independent event organised by Finnish manufacturing giant Nokia.
Nokia has revealed its plans to hold the new 'Connecting People' event in the same city over the same time period.
This year Nokia said that is would have no official presence at the MWC, explaining its absence by saying that it was going to be focusing its efforts on its own 'Nokia World' conference which took place recently.
There is currently little information available regarding for what Nokia proposes to use the Connecting People convention, although observers have predicted that it will be geared towards corporate customers and the range of business phones that it has set to release in 2010.
Many are confused as to why Nokia is choosing to hold its own separate event at the same time as a significant industry gathering. Some see it as a poor publicity stunt, whilst others believe it could be a relatively mundane event that is being over-analysed by commentators.
