The Clickfree automatic backup technology from Storage Appliance has been modified for use on BlackBerry smartphones and aims to provide a simple and secure way for people to keep up to date copies of their computer files with them at all times.
The device is extremely simple and takes the form of a microSD memory card with 16GB of storage space as well as built-in software that allows it to initiate the backup process.
You just need to slot the card into your BlackBerry, connect the mobile phone via USB to your laptop or PC and initiate the backup.
A 32GB version is going to be made available soon to cater to those with even larger storage requirements.
The first Clickfree memory card for BlackBerry will arrive in April 2010 and it will be compatible with both Windows and Mac platforms, as well as being able to store data harvested from multiple PCs.
If you are worried about the security of the service, the data is automatically encrypted as it is stored on the device and decrypted again when it is transferred back to the PC of origin.
