The GW990 is a new smartphone from LG that has a native resolution of 1024x480 on its 4.8-inch display and is capable of playing back 720p HD video files.
The GW990 will be one of the first mobile phones to use Intel's new Moorestown operating system, which will offer smooth multitasking and, combined with the ultra widescreen aspect ratio, will allow for three apps to operate on-screen at the same time.
Web browsing also looks as though it will come naturally to the GW990, with most pages displayed without horizontal restriction when it is held in landscape mode.
The GW990 should be able to handle 3D gaming and with 16GB of onboard storage space, many more applications can be downloaded using either Wi-Fi or HSDPA connections. There is also a five megapixel camera mounted on the back, which has become fairly standard for LG smartphones.
LG hopes to launch the GW990 in the latter half of 2010.
