US mobile network AT&T let slip details of a brand new Android-based smartphone from Motorola during CES 2010, although the manufacturer itself has not been forthcoming with its own news about the proposed mobile.
The one thing that is known about the phone is that it will be created in a brand new form factor, which has led some to claim that it may be referring to the reverse-hinged Motorola Backflip.
Whether this is the case or not, the smartphone will use the MOTOBLUR interface, which focuses on social networking and augments the existing Android UI.
Industry observers have welcomed the news of the new mobile phone, which it is believed represents the further rebirth of Motorola as a serious player in the mobile phone manufacturing market.
Motorola's other Android handsets, which were initially available only in the US, have since made the journey to the UK under different branding and it is likely that any new releases should filter through in 2010.
