In the ongoing battle between Nokia and Apple the N900 is the latest weapon to attempt to hit back at the supremacy of the iPhone and with an advanced web browser soon to be released, the Finnish giants could regain even more lost ground.
The Fennec browser is the codename given to Mozilla's mobile version of its hugely popular Firefox browser program and amongst other things it looks set to take advantage of the advanced capabilities of the N900's Maemo operating system.
This will include the integration of Flash player, allowing for Flash content, such as videos and games, to be viewed from within the browser.
Other capabilities of Fennec have already been revealed and discussed, including the ability to bookmark your favourite websites in one touch, as well as being able to synchronise the mobile browser with the desktop version so that all of your current history and favourites can be transferred over.
Ideally Fennec will remain a unique selling point for the N900 for as long as possible, although versions for other mobile operating systems, such as Android, are going to arrive eventually.
