iPhone Freeview planner app announced

iPhone users will be able to check out extensive TV listings for the ever-growing array of free-to-air digital channels with the first-ever Freeview app.

All of the standard definition channels are included, along with listings for the high definition broadcasts from the BBC that are available to Freesat customers.

A Freeview spokesperson said: "Features including a 'now and next' view and 'Top 10' channel list will make it easier to plan TV viewing and keep up to date with the most popular channels."

It is also possible to store favourite channels and always have them heading up the list of what's on.

Sadly the Freeview app will not allow interaction with a Freeview recorder whilst users are on the go, which is something that Sky offers its customers via its own application.

The Freeview app is available to download for free from the App Store now.
