The Motorola Quench is set to replace the Dext in the EU and will appear Stateside as the Cliq XT, with a 3.1 inch touchscreen, MotoBLUR and Android 1.5 on board.
Unveiled at the Mobile World Conference (MWC) yesterday, the Quench will not offer the most complete smartphone experience, but the addition of MotoBLUR for social networking will certainly help things.
Connectivity is provided either via 3G or Wi-Fi and GPS support is also onboard. A five megapixel camera makes an appearance on the back, complete with an LED flash, as does the standard array of multimedia support and a universal headphone jack.
The Quench will be aimed at the mid range market, which is already becoming crowded with other modestly priced smartphones sporting Android and social networking features.
Motorola is set to bring the Quench over to the UK market before the end of March, although it will launch in the US a little earlier, giving us time to gauge the reaction from across the pond.
