The Nokia X6 has not been available for that long, but Nokia has already rushed out the first firmware update that will bring the phone up to version 12.0.091.
According to Nokia fan site NokNok, owners of the handset can use the software suite provided with the phone to download and install the update via your home computer.
It is also available as an over-the-air download which buyers can initiate by entering *#000# into your X6 and hitting the call button.
Although the X6 will retain all personal information, including contacts and texts, during the update process, NokNok suggests that you take the precaution of backing up your data independently just to be sure.
The new firmware does not add any new features to the X6, but does iron out bugs that were reported by users.
Whilst Nokia has just announced the availability of the update, it could be a few weeks until your region is eligible to receive the new firmware.
