Second NASA app for iPhone launched

The NASA Lunar Electric Rover Simulator may not have a particularly catchy title, but it is likely to excite those iPhone owners who enjoyed the first NASA App and are now looking for more.

The app lets players explore the surface of the moon while performing various tasks and meet the requirements set out by NASA objectives.

Gamers will need to use their navigation skills and closely monitor the amount of juice they have left in the battery-powered lunar rover.

As well as piloting the rover, the app has a gallery of images showing a variety of other rovers, complete with information about each one.

According to NASA, the LER Simulator "gives you a glimpse of what it might be like to support the activities of a functioning Lunar Outpost".

The NASA Lunar Electric Rover Simulator is free to download from the app store now.
