A press release relating to the upcoming Android-based Dell Mini 5 tablet has hinted at the imminent availability of a Kindle eBook reader application for Google's smartphone platform.
According to the release, the features of the Dell Mini 5 will include "Kindle book reading applications" in addition to "Amazon video streams" and MP3 download service access.
The documents were leaked to Pocket Lint and are relatively sparse in other technical areas, but the offerings hinted at are not too outlandish.
The iPhone version of Kindle has been around for a while and even the BlackBerry platform has Amazon's product onboard, so an Android version is the next logical step.
The Dell Mini 5 will allegedly arrive in multiple colours and will use Android in conjunction with a large touchscreen display.
How much it will cost and when it is coming to the UK has not as yet been revealed, but expect a suitably hefty price tag for what looks to be a heavyweight piece of kit.
