Android phone owners can now give Swype's intuitive touchscreen typing technology a test drive, with the news that the innovative app is in beta testing.
Swype has been in the works for a while and various pre-release versions have already made it to online communities.
However, its creator has now just announced that Swype is letting anyone come aboard and get a beta version of the software to play with.
In order to access the beta version of the app, Android phone users will need to sign up to become part of the test - although not every applicant will be accepted.
Every Android-based smartphone seems to be supported and screen resolutions from 320x480 to 480x800 are compatible, so Google Nexus One owners can get Swyping straight away.
However, given that Swype is likely to be a popular piece of software, anyone wanting to try out the beta version should sign up as quick as possible before all of the places are filled.
