A high-end version of the Nokia N97 Mini is on the way, with Nokia deciding to ditch its plastic housing in favour of something a little more opulent; in this case 18 carat gold plating.
Despite its swanky exterior, the N97 Mini Gold will retain all of the technical specifications of its humbler predecessor.
That means you get a 3.2 inch touchscreen interface which has a decent resolution, making it ideal for mobile web surfing and video viewing.
The N97 Mini Gold will also have the same five megapixel camera with Carl Zeiss optics as the original and the full QWERTY keypad looks to have been retained, but with the gold trim lapping up and over to encompass the buttons.
Nokia says that the N97 Gold will arrive within the next three or four months and its expected retail price will be around £550.
Considering that there have been many other bling-tastic phones, of both the gold and jewel-encrusted variety sporting six or seven figure price tags, the Nokia N97 Gold looks to be good value for money if you feel like a little extravagance in your life.
